Cindy Burnett and I connected through our shared love of books. I only wish I’d met her when I lived in Houston for all those years. Anyway, whether I’m scrolling her social media posts, reading her book columns, or listening to her podcast, Cindy is a go-to source for book opinions and recommendations. —Pamela Lamp

"I love Cindy's interviews with authors about their books."
Cindy Burnett has always had a passion for books. As a child, she stayed up late into the night with a flashlight under the covers immersed in her latest read. Books were her most loyal companion, as she and her family moved frequently when she was young, landing in Houston, Texas; Westport, Connecticut; Rio de Janeiro, Brasil; and then back in Houston.

"I love to read and to share my passion for reading with others. Reading teaches empathy, kindness, understanding, and just generally provides a glimpse into the lives of other people and what it is like to reside in other places. So many books are being published, and I enjoy sharing and highlighting those that have stood out to me and are great reads. I also like promoting new authors and authors whose books I always read." —Cindy Burnett

At these salons, I interview the authors, and over time people kept suggesting that I expand that to a podcast, especially once everything moved online in March...." —Cindy Burnett
